The problem with many cutoff saws is not so much their
ability to cut, but rather keeping out the crud to stay running.

dirt (and water) got past the filter to the carb throat area. That
means the engine has ingested dirt and debris - which leads to an
quicker engine deterioration. |

This is their filter arrangement. Nice idea, but
apparently not reliable enough! The worst conditions for an air filter is
probably a cut-off saw. Very high dust conditions. Way to go, PARTNER!
