|
| What does the "C" mean? | |
|
The "C" stands for comfort (or
was that convenience?) |
| What is "QS" ? | |
|
|
QS stands for quick stop. The throttle interlock lever (on top of rear handle) is linked to the chain brake. As soon as you release pressure on the lever, it stops the chain. (Engine keeps going). This is especially important for those making rapid succession cuts with minimal user interaction, such as forest fire fighting. |
| What is meant by "PRO" ? | |
|
|
Stihl Pro chainsaws come in a variety of
sizes. However, they all have this in common: They are intended for day
in, day out use. They are designed as "engine-centric" (everything
bolts directly to the engine, with no plastic in-between). This results in
a stronger, lighter machine. Most all
models have Intellicarb® to keep running even with a dirty filter. Most Stihl PRO chainsaws also have a temperature compensation device, which minimizes or eliminates having to adjust the carb on a chainsaw because of ambient air temperature. As the air temperature varies between summer and winter, 2 stroke engines often need to be re-tuned. This device eliminates that issue. |

| What is different about an arborist' saw? | |
|
|
Lightweight, powerful, and a top mounted
handlebar. For those that enjoy climbing trees like a monkey! It also has a retractable lanyard ring.
It has a lot of power in such a small lightweight package. Strong and
durable as well.
Did I mention lightweight? (7.7 lbs !!) A lot of zing in a little zip! |

Perfect for reaching those branches that are
out of reach. Put that ladder back in the garage, and use this saw! It
comes in a variety of different ways:
A must for the arborist! Automatic chain oiler. Uses the patented 4Mix engine that really puts out the torque needed by pole pruners to get the job done. No need to 'ease off' the pressure when cutting to help the engine keep up. With the 4Mix, you just put the saw down, and let it cut. |
| Other details... | |
| Stihl pays attention to detail. Notice that the fuel line is made with special 'rings' that keep the fuel line from kinking. Fuel lines used today are also specially treated to be resistant to the alcohol substance commonly put in fuel. | |
| The engine, in living color! Notice the piston has 2 rings, not one. Notice the full crankshaft. Notice the muffler designed to be quieter. | |
| Our thoughts: When you want to buy a saw, it should meet, and somewhat exceed your needs. You don't want to buy TOO small a saw; you will over work it, and shorten it's life span. Conversely, buying too big can mean a sore back/arms/etc. (Plus it can be dangerous). | |
